Everest Panorama Trek is an excellent choice for hikers who wish to take in the beauty of the Everest region without having to endure a demanding high-altitude trekking experience or extensive physical fitness requirements, as it is comparatively shorter and less demanding than the Everest Base Camp Trek. Trekking through the Himalayas provides breathtaking sweeping views of numerous mountains, including Mount Everest (8848 m), Ama Dablam (6812 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Thamserku (6623 m), and many more.

The trek typically begins with a picturesque flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a tiny town near Mount Everest. You will start your journey from Lukla and travel through stunning scenery, rhododendron forests, and quaint Sherpa villages. Depending on the route and the hiker’s pace, the trek usually takes seven days. You can learn about Sherpa culture and way of life through the trek. You can visit traditional villages, engage with the local Sherpa population, and discover their customs and traditions.

The chance to see the well-known Tengboche viewpoint is one of the trek’s main draws. A magnificent Buddhist monastery with expansive views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks can be found in Tengboche. One of the most well-known monasteries in the Everest region, Tengboche Monastery is located at an elevation of 3860 meters and is very significant both religiously and culturally. Numerous hikers seize the chance to witness prayer sessions and obtain blessings from the monks.

All things considered, the Everest panorama trek offers a singular chance to take in the grandeur of the Himalayas. Even though the trek doesn’t actually reach the Everest base camp, it still offers insightful knowledge of the area.

Climate and weather

The Everest Panorama Trek in Nepal is appropriate throughout the year. However, the various seasons offer unique ways to enhance your trekking experience. Thus, spring and fall are generally regarded as the ideal seasons to climb Everest. Trekking is also recommended during the winter and monsoon seasons.

One of the best seasons to visit EBC is in the spring (March, April, May). Although it quickly warms up, the nighttime low of below freezing persists throughout. The views from the summit are breathtaking, the days are longer with plenty of sunshine and few clouds, and the weather is usually clear and bright.

The monsoon rains have cleared the skies, making autumn (September, October, and November) one of the best seasons to visit Everest. The scenery is as serene and lush as ever. With highs of up to 17°C, bright sunshine is warming the weather, but strong, chilly winds can still make it feel colder.

Foods and Accommodations

During the trek, you will find tea houses and lodges along the trail that offer a variety of hot cooked with a choice of both Nepali and western meals and snacks. The meals include energy giving food and liquid food like rice, cereals, lentils soup, noodles soup, hot tea, potato etc. It’s advisable to stick to hot and freshly cooked meals to avoid any health issues.

Along the Everest panorama trek route, there are numerous tea houses and lodges that provide basic accommodation facilities. Rooms are available on a twin-sharing basis. Each room comes with two beds, blankets, and occasionally shared bathrooms. Almost all tea houses have hot showers available which are mostly gas heated somewhere they offer buckets filled with hot water for bathing purpose.

Travel insurance

Obtaining travel insurance is highly advised for any trekking expedition, including the Everest panorama trek. Verify that your insurance includes coverage for high-altitude trekking, emergency medical costs, helicopter evacuation in the event of a medical emergency, and trip cancellation. To find the best coverage for your needs, compare quotes from several insurance companies.

Hiring a local guide and porter for Everest panorama trek can enhance your experience and provide additional support. A guide can help with navigation, provide local insights, ensure your safety and a porter can assist you by carrying heavy backpack, allowing you to enjoy the trek without the added physical strain.

It’s important to remember that, per the Nepal Tourism Board, all hikers must obtain the services of a licensed trekking guide and a TIMS card through approved trekking agencies that are officially registered with the Nepali government.

As a result, Nepal Holiday Treks and Tours Pvt. Ltd. is always available to provide you with a licensed, highly skilled, amiable, and insured trekking guide and porter. Additionally, they can provide you insightful knowledge about the customs, history, and culture of the area.
